
On 1 January 2025, 22 of the 27 EU countries had a national minimum wage. EU countries without a national minimum wage were Denmark, Italy, Austria, Finland and Sweden. Monthly minimum wages vary widely across the EU countries, from €551 in Bulgaria to €2 638 in Luxembourg.
Latvia's minimmum wage currently stands at €740 per month – up on €700 euros last year. Back in 2015 it was €360 euros per month, so over the decade it has doubled in simple monetary terms.
