Latvia got their World Cup qualiying campaign off to a winning start March 21 with a 1-0 victory away to Andorra, courtesy of a headed goal from Dario Šits midway through the second half.
It was a rare highlight in a pretty dour contest, not helped by torrential rain and a lumpy-looking pitch in the Pyrenees.
Next up Latvia will have to climb a mountain of a different sort as they take on England in London on Monday.
