The project aims to improve the landscape along the Ilūkste River banks, thus also improving the territory of the adjacent former Jesuit monastery complex.
The plan is to create a pedestrian promenade along the Ilūkste River, recreational and educational areas, as well as clean up the river itself and improve the only public beach in the city. This is just the first stage of a broader landscape concept to improve the area.
