
The Road Traffic Law stipulates that if a driver has not passed a medical check-up on time, he or she may not use their driver's license. If the law is not complied with, the police impose a fine of EUR 40.
Jānis Parādnieks, chief of the Response Bureau of the Riga Regional Directorate of the State Police, explained that in such a case "the ban on using your driver's license comes into force, but the driver does not lose their license".
