On 1 April 2025, Latvia provisionally had a population of 1 million 847 thousand, which is 15 300 people fewer than on 1 April 2024.
In the first three months of this year, 2 756 children were born, which is 398 children (12.6 %) fewer than in Q1 2024 when 3 154 children were born. However, 985 births in March exceed the figures recorded in January (881) and February (890).
