This season, 125 Galloway cows will be sent to 11 different grazing sites across Latvia to help restore and preserve more than 200 hectares of specially protected grasslands.
The Sigulda Balonu Meadows are now in their fifth season of grazing, with cows currently grazing on approximately four hectares. The cows themselves are also slightly different from those usually seen in the Latvian countryside.
