The previous seven years saw warmer-than-usual Junes, and this year's first summer month was the coolest since 2017, when the average air temperature in June was only 14.1 degrees.
May this year was even two degrees colder than normal, while before that, for 15 consecutive months – since February 2024 – the average air temperature remained above normal, i.e. above the 1991-2020 average.
