Data show that polypharmacy, or the daily use of at least five different medicines, is common in 38.5% of people aged 65 and over in Latvia - the highest rate in the Baltic States. It is particularly common in Latvia in the 75-84 age group - in this age group, regular use of several medicines is a daily routine for almost half of the population.
