As in the previous year, this year the predominant part of the residents of Latvia (from 86% to 91%) believes that important things and political intentions are being hidden from society. Respondents believe in the existence of secret organizations (56%) and secret agreements (67%), as well as that government authorities closely monitor and track all citizens (53%). Those with lower financial means, lower levels of education, living in rural areas, and representatives of minorities comparatively more often agreed with statements about the influence of secret organizations and agreements, as well as that government authorities closely monitor and track all citizens. The study was conducted from April to June of this year by the agency "Latvijas fakti."
