The vessel 'Fitburg', flying the flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, departed from Saint Petersburg and is suspected of damaging the 'Elisa' cable between Helsinki and Tallinn in the exclusive economic zone of Estonia. According to the Finnish police, the crew members are citizens of Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. According to the ship tracking website 'Marine Traffic', the final destination of the vessel is the port of Haifa in Israel. The Finnish police are trying to determine whether the vessel is guilty of damaging the cable and have interrogated the crew members of the ship. As previously reported, on Wednesday morning 'Elisa' detected damage to the cable and reported it to the Finnish authorities. A patrol vessel and helicopter from the Finnish Border Guard spotted the suspicious vessel in the exclusive economic zone of Finland and found that the ship's anchor was dropped into the sea. The Finnish Border Guard ordered the vessel to stop, raise its anchor, and head into the territorial waters of Finland. The vessel is currently in the port of Kantvik.
