Benedict Cumberbatch to Star in the Dramatic Thriller 'The Last Flight'

The film will be directed by BAFTA award winner Babak Anvari, with the screenplay written by Kirk Wallace Johnson — a writer and former USAID coordinator who was directly involved in the reconstruction of Iraq after the war and founded a charitable project for the evacuation of allies. The plot centers around a young Afghan named Ali, who is trying to get his family out of the country before it is too late. His only hope is a connection with Johnson, an American thousands of miles away, struggling with the aftermath of war. Filming for 'The Last Flight' is scheduled for May 2026, and the crew plans to work in the UK, Morocco, and Jordan. Cumberbatch will also serve as an executive producer on the project, which is described as a tense thriller with a strong humanitarian message.
