Latvian Television confirmed the presence of the powder-pink flowers on trees in the capital's Victory Park, always eagerly watched as a sort of unofficial bloom barometer for the appearance of cherry blossom.
A national institution in Japan, blossom-watching has become very popular in Latvia as well.
