On the night before Sunday, rains will pass over most of Latvia. According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, precipitation will be intense in some areas and may be accompanied by thunderstorms. Closer to morning, the weather will begin to improve in the western part of the country: the rain clouds will gradually disperse, and the sun will appear. In other regions, cloudiness and the likelihood of precipitation will remain. The air temperature at night will drop to +11...+17 degrees. A weak to moderate west and northwest wind will blow, with gusts along the coast reaching 15–18 meters per second in some places. However, atmospheric instability will persist during the day. In many areas, brief showers are expected again, and thunderstorm clouds may form, bringing heavy rains. This means that the weather can change rapidly even within the same area: sunny periods will alternate with intense precipitation and thunderstorms. Those planning outdoor activities or trips should consider the possibility of a sudden deterioration in weather conditions. The daytime temperature will be +17...+22 degrees. The wind will remain weak to moderate, but strong gusts may occur during thunderstorms. In Riga, rain is expected at times during the night, with thunderstorms and heavy showers not ruled out. By morning, the precipitation will cease; however, rain will return in the afternoon. According to meteorologists, thunderstorms and intense precipitation are also possible in the capital. The air in Riga will warm up to +20...+22 degrees, with a west and northwest wind persisting. If you plan to spend time outdoors on Sunday, it is advisable to check the forecast for your area in advance and have a raincoat or umbrella with you, as local downpours can start quite quickly.
