МиГ-29

The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported a successful attack on the Russian military airfield Belbek in Crimea. According to the Ukrainian side, on the night of June 26, drones from the Department of Unmanned Systems destroyed a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet. In addition to the aircraft, GUR claims that a launch pad at the airfield, which was servicing combat aviation at the time of the strike, was also hit. Ukrainian intelligence estimates the potential damage to the Russian side at several tens of millions of dollars. Along with the statement, the agency published a video recording that allegedly captures the moment of the aircraft and object being hit on the airfield's territory. The Belbek airfield, located in Crimea, remains one of the key facilities of the Russian military aviation on the peninsula and is regularly mentioned in reports about strikes on military infrastructure. At the time of publication, the Russian side had not officially commented on the statement from Ukrainian intelligence, and independent confirmation of the information regarding the destruction of the aircraft has not been provided.
