According to the declaration of a public official, the total income of the rector of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Aigars Petersons, for the year 2025 amounted to €275,134. This is €110,773, or 28.7%, less than the previous year. The most significant impact on the decrease in income was the absence of payments from pension funds. While the declaration for 2024 indicated nearly €98,200 received from the Swedbank open pension fund and another €36,800 from the SEB pension fund, such income is absent in the 2025 declaration. At the same time, the rector's salary at Rīga Stradiņš University, on the contrary, increased. Over the year, it rose from €183,715 to €194,779. The remuneration received by Petersons at the Children's Clinical University Hospital remained virtually unchanged at €16,496. Additionally, the rector declared a pension of €53,282, payments from the Ministry of Finance and the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation, as well as €1,814 in interest income from bank deposits. Petersons' financial situation changed in other indicators as well. The amount of cash savings increased by nearly €46,600, reaching €71,258, while the amount of cash remained the same at €3,500. At the same time, the value of the bonds he owns decreased from €175,000 to €140,000. The declaration also reflects a purchase worth €50,000, a loan received for €20,000, and a loan issued for €15,000. Petersons owns several properties in the municipalities of Kolka and Marupe. Compared to the previous declaration, another plot of land appeared in the list of properties in the Kolka municipality. Among the vehicles, the declaration lists an Audi Q7 from 2023. The publication of annual declarations of public officials allows tracking changes in income, savings, investments, and the property composition of heads of public institutions.
