Открылась фотовыставка «Прогулка по прекрасной Юрмале»

The exhibition is dedicated to Jurmala, a resort town from the 1920s to the 1940s. "Jurmalа has always been more than just a seaside town. It is a place where nature, architecture, leisure, and the desire of people to pause for a moment — to breathe in the pine air, visit the beach, stroll through parks, streets, and courtyards hidden in the shade of wooden summer houses — come together," emphasize the creators of the exhibition. The photographs capture beach promenades, swimming pools, sanatoriums, train stations, cafes, concert halls, boat docks, Kemeri parks, Jomas Street, and quieter corners among the pines. "Some of these places have been preserved, some have changed, but the special atmosphere of Jurmala is still recognizable," acknowledge those at the cultural center. With the augmented reality application "Old Jurmala," you can see how the past meets the present — a historical image becomes a starting point from which you can see how the same place looks today.
