In May, exports to Russia amounted to 70.7 million euros. The reduction was mainly influenced by a decrease in the export of chemical industry products and related sectors by 51.1%, or 7.7 million euros. Imports from Russia in May of this year amounted to 4.4 million euros. The decrease was primarily influenced by a reduction in the import of animal or vegetable fats and oils by 1.8 million euros. Compared to May 2025, Latvian exports to Belarus in May of this year increased by 30.2% to 16.2 million euros. The growth was mainly influenced by an increase in the export of optical instruments and equipment by 3.6 million euros. Imports from Belarus decreased by 59.2% to 2.8 million euros. The reduction was mainly influenced by a drop in the import of animal or vegetable fats and oils by 3.7 million euros. However, compared to April, imports from Belarus increased by 52.9%, mainly influenced by growth in the import of chemical industry products, related sectors, and food industry products - each group by 0.5 million euros. Compared to May 2025, Latvian exports to Ukraine decreased by 23.4% to 30.3 million euros. The reduction was mainly influenced by a drop in the export of vehicles and their equipment by 10.2 million euros, or 91.1%. Imports from Ukraine decreased by 13.1% to 18.3 million euros. The reduction in imports was mainly influenced by a drop in the import of chemical industry products and related sectors by 2.7 million euros, or 79.4%.
