At the end of June, law enforcement officers conducted a check at one of the warehouses in the Teika district. During the search, a large quantity of cigarettes was seized - both with and without excise stamps, as well as vehicles, tracking devices, and other items indicating an intention to secretly transport a large quantity of illegally produced cigarettes. A total of 1,558,000 'Winston' and 'Minsk' cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps and 'Omega' cigarettes without excise stamps were seized during the search. A tractor with a semi-trailer and two cargo vans were also confiscated. All vehicles had Polish registration plates. During the searches, tracking devices, GPS signal blockers, Lithuanian vehicle registration plates, and various goods to cover the transportation of illegal cigarettes were found. A citizen of Lithuania was detained on suspicion of illegal activities, and a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the illegal storage, movement, or sale of tobacco products in large quantities.
