Riga's Deputy Mayor Edvards Ratnieks (National Alliance) expects that the management of the Russian Theatre named after M. Chekhov will comply with the order of the Minister of Culture and remove both the poster in Russian and the sign on the building of the theatre, which has an inscription in Russian, by July 31. "If they do not remove it, there will be further steps," the politician warned and concluded: "Integration must be based on Latvian, not Russian language."
