In the morning, sunny weather will predominantly remain in the eastern part of the country. The western and central regions will have more clouds, and by the afternoon, cloud cover will begin to spread across Latvia. Rain clouds are expected to arrive from the west. In the western and central regions, there will be heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas. During the thunderstorm, the weather may change sharply: the wind will strengthen with gusts of up to 15–16 meters per second. Therefore, those planning outdoor activities should consider the possibility of rapid deterioration in weather conditions. Despite the precipitation, the day will remain very warm. In most areas of the country, the air temperature will range from +24 to +29 degrees. Only in Kurzeme will it be slightly cooler — from +20 to +24 degrees. In Riga, the first half of the day will be partly cloudy, but later the sky will be overcast. In the afternoon, rain and thunderstorms are possible. The air temperature in the capital will rise to +27…+29 degrees. Due to the high temperature and increased humidity, the heat may feel more intense than what the thermometers indicate. Additionally, forecasters warn that the ultraviolet radiation index will be moderate to high, so it is advisable to take care of skin protection during prolonged sun exposure. According to forecasts, Saturday will be a day of contrasting weather: summer heat will be replaced by rain and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.
