Александр Добриндт

Germany is facing an increased threat of possible attacks. This was stated by Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt in an interview with the newspaper *Welt am Sonntag*, as reported by the DPA agency. According to him, the authorities have changed their previous assessment of the situation, as the volume of information coming from intelligence services has significantly increased. Now, as the minister noted, Germany is in a state of "high threat level." "This means that in Germany, one must be prepared for the risk of an attack at any moment," Dobrindt said. He added that the preparation for attacks against the country is, according to available data, "absolutely obvious." For the residents of Germany, this does not mean the introduction of a state of emergency or new restrictions. However, such an assessment affects the work of intelligence services and police, enhancing security measures and attention to potential threats. Just a month ago, at a meeting of the interior ministers of the federal states, Dobrindt warned that he intended to raise the official threat level assessment. According to him, this decision is based on several factors. It concerns the increase in the volume of intelligence information coming from both German intelligence services and foreign partners, the rise in the number of court sentences in cases of crimes against the state, as well as the intensification of the activities of agent networks that, according to authorities, are preparing espionage and sabotage operations both in Germany and abroad. Thus, German authorities consider the current situation to be more dangerous than before and intend to structure the work of security forces based on the elevated level of risk.
