Eight people were injured as a result of a knife attack at the village festival Blauliachd in Eglining (Bavaria). This was reported on Sunday, July 19, by the dpa agency and the online portal Münchner Merkur. Initially, an unknown assailant attacked a 24-year-old Austrian citizen and his 16-year-old friend with a knife - one of the blows struck an artery in the right forearm. After that, other attendees were also injured. Some of the victims have already undergone surgery. They had fractures of the facial bones. **The Attacker Managed to Escape** Despite security personnel blocking entrances and exits, the attacker managed to escape. The police are establishing his identity and motives. About 700 people were present at the party. They were unable to leave the celebration area for a long time due to searches by law enforcement. It is possible that the perpetrator left the festival before the police arrived. "This has always been such a cozy festival. It is very sad that it ended this way," noted party organizer Simon Rass. Around 60 police officers, five ambulances, two doctors, as well as a rescue helicopter and a police drone were dispatched to the scene. Fifteen firefighters from Eglining assisted in illuminating the area and regulating traffic. After the arrival of the first police units, the atmosphere was tense and at times aggressive. During a controlled evacuation, several people were taken into custody. The police are analyzing video footage and asking witnesses to provide additional information, reports "Deutsche Welle."
