The German Foreign Minister wants to discuss personnel changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the authorities of Ukraine. Johann Wadephul stated this on Wednesday, July 22, at a press conference in Nigeria, responding to a question from DW. The minister announced that he would soon hold talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga "about the security situation in general, but of course also about the personnel decisions made by President Zelensky." "I would like to understand many of them," Wadephul said. "Germany belongs to and will continue to belong to the number of largest supporters of Ukraine - politically, economically, financially. Therefore, we are extremely interested in knowing in detail what is happening there. But I am confident that these are decisions that we will be able to understand. And that the overall reform process in Ukraine will continue," the minister added. According to him, in order to advance on the path to the European Union, the Ukrainian authorities must carry out further reforms "to establish the rule of law, democracy, and parliamentarism in the country."
