There is no trace left of the visible unity in the new government! For several days now, ruling politicians have been publicly criticizing each other. "New Unity" attacks the Prime Minister for his unwillingness to cancel the December 2023 government decision to support woodworkers. Andris Kulbergs did not hold back and accused "New Unity" of having supported that scandalous decision nearly three years ago. In turn, the Prime Minister decided to strike back at "New Unity" and the remaining opposition "Progressives" for providing financial assistance to airBaltic - Kulbergs has submitted a statement to the Prosecutor General's Office. In the background, there are also disputes regarding the plan to sell the state’s stake in shares of Tet and LMT to investors - however, the state first needs to buy back the shares from Swedish shareholders. All these issues will be the subject of discussion - apparently at elevated tones - at the upcoming coalition council on Monday. Regarding the cancellation of the 2023 government decision, Kulbergs wants to appeal to the Constitutional Court. But for that, a decision from the Cabinet of Ministers is needed.
