During the 20th rotation of the NATO multinational battlegroup in Rukla, the 93rd Tank Battalion from Germany was deployed from Munster. The columns of military equipment arriving in Lithuania, assigned to the NATO multinational battlegroup, consisted of approximately 80 units of heavy wheeled and tracked vehicles, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, and trucks, which moved under their own power to Kazlų Rūda. According to the military, such exercises allow for the assessment of allies' ability to rapidly and flexibly deploy forces under various conditions. "This is a routine part of NATO allies' activities that strengthens the defensive readiness of Lithuania and the entire Alliance," the statement said. The 45th Armored Brigade of Germany Lietuva, stationed in Lithuania, took command of the NATO Multinational Battlegroup on February 4 of this year from the Lithuanian Armed Forces' Gelezinis vilkas Infantry Brigade after nine years of service within the Lithuanian military unit. Military personnel from Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, and Croatia serve in the battlegroup on a rotational basis.
