The advisor to the Minister of Finance, Guntars Vitols, reacted to the protest at the Freedom Monument allegedly against the infringement of non-governmental organizations. "Essentially, the reputation of the non-governmental sector is tarnished by those who exploit it, the false prophets, those who hang around there solely for their personal income, the principle of the feeder, and they are completely aware of this cynicism. We have many feeders in many places, not just in this sector. And this face of cynicism is often very deceptive. Some diplomas, a pretty face, nice suits, and beautiful names. Empty. And rot in the soul. This society as a whole must uproot it. This is in the interest of the non-governmental sector itself. There are many who genuinely help people. I know, you probably do too. Any of us can find an example. And they are hurt. And they know or realize those who only receive salaries for participating in meetings. Help eradicate these "monsters"; this is in the interest of everyone and society as a whole," Vitols wrote on the social network X.
