Поле перед грозой

In many areas of western and central Latvia, including Riga, the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has issued a yellow warning level due to heat up to +30…+32 degrees. In some areas of the eastern part of the country and in some places in Kurzeme, the temperature will not exceed +27 degrees. A light to moderate southern wind will blow, which will change to a western wind in Kurzeme. The sky will be partly cloudy. Starting from the western regions, there will be occasional short rains, and thunderstorms are possible. In some places, they may be accompanied by heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds. The highest likelihood of severe thunderstorms is expected: in the afternoon and evening — in eastern Kurzeme, Zemgale, and Vidzeme; late in the evening and at night — in Latgale and the eastern part of Vidzeme. In Riga, the air will warm up to +31 degrees. A moderate southern wind will blow, and the sky will remain partly cloudy. By evening, the likelihood of thunderstorms will increase, and the wind will change direction to the northwest. A trough of low pressure and a cold atmospheric front are approaching Latvia from the west. The atmospheric pressure at sea level will range from 1014 hPa in Kurzeme to 1020 hPa in Latgale. The heat record for the last days of July in Latvia was set in 2002, when the air in Riga warmed up to +34.1 degrees.
