This share increased by 0.5 percentage points (pp) compared with 2024, but it is significantly lower (by 7.7 pp) than a decade ago, in 2015.
The highest proportions of people unable to afford a week’s annual holiday were recorded in Romania (61.4%), Greece (46.6%) and Bulgaria and Hungary (both 39.1%).
By contrast, 10.6% of people in Luxembourg, 12.4% in Sweden and 12.8% in the Netherlands reported being unable to afford a one-week holiday away from home in 2025.
