Latvia will become the president of the United Nations Security Council in November 2026. The presidency will last for one month, during which Latvia will lead the council's work and meetings. Each presidency also has the opportunity to introduce one or more topics that it wishes to highlight. Countries in the United Nations Security Council take turns presiding in alphabetical order. Latvia's presidency will be the final one in the cycle of presidencies of four European countries after Denmark, France, and Greece.
