The liner Romantika, which operated this summer as an additional vessel on the Tallinn-Stockholm route, and previously on the Riga-Stockholm route, will make its final voyage across the Baltic Sea on August 4. Passengers who purchased tickets for later sailings of the Romantika will be able to choose the most suitable alternative for traveling to Stockholm on the Baltic Queen, Silja Symphony, or Silja Serenade. Tallink has already contacted passengers directly, and most bookings have been reissued. "Our goal is to utilize our vessels in the best possible way, and leasing Romantika to Italy will positively impact Tallink's financial results," commented Tallink Grupp Chairman Peep Jalaakas. "The summer additional sailings on the Swedish route, along with special cruises in the Tallinn Bay, were part of a summer project that was supposed to conclude with the last sailing from Stockholm to Tallinn on August 8. Due to the vessel's departure to Italy, the project will conclude four days earlier," Jalaakas added, assuring that thanks to Tallink's flexible schedule, customers will be able to choose a suitable replacement from several alternatives. Built in 2002 in Finland, Romantika was the first ferry constructed for Tallink and the first vessel for the Estonian shipowner. Currently, three Tallink vessels are operating in Europe under long-term charter agreements. The cruise liners Silja Europa and Galaxy are chartered in the Netherlands, where they are used as floating hotels. The vessel Superfast IX (renamed St. Patrick) is leased to the shipping company Hibernia Line and serves the route between Ireland and France.
