“No, we do not have such information. We assess the situation based on what we know at the moment: the damage was not accidental, the rockets hit very close to our territory, but we believe that they were not targeting the embassy,” said Budrys in an interview published on Wednesday in the business publication Verslo zinios. “On the other hand, there were no targets nearby, even (...) considering that Russia does not shy away from striking civilian objects. The only one is the thermal power plant located one and a half kilometers from our embassy, which is constantly under attack, so it can be said that they were targeting it, but that is very close to us. One crater is just a few meters from the fence, another (...) is 150 meters from our territory,” noted the head of Lithuanian diplomacy.  _Photo: Photo: Andrey Sibiga / H._ The minister emphasized that Russia is obligated to ensure the security of diplomatic missions, and Moscow is being asked to compensate for the damage caused. “It is obvious: windows in our representation are shattered, the roof is damaged, we will not leave it like this. (...) What they are doing in Kyiv, attacking objects that have nothing to do with military targets — this is a crime,” he stated. As reported by BNS, as a result of the strikes on Saturday night, embassy staff were not injured, but window frames were damaged, glass was shattered, the roof and the solar panels installed on it were damaged. The attack, which resulted in damage to the building of the Lithuanian embassy, was condemned by President Gitanas Nausėda and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already expressed a strong protest to the Russian representative, noting that such actions grossly violate the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
