During a working trip to the Bauska region, the Minister of Climate and Energy, Janis Vitenbergs, announced a new program. It provides for funding for the construction and reconstruction of drainage systems and stormwater drainage, as well as the acquisition of equipment and technologies necessary to prevent flooding. The government plans to submit the program this fall. During the meeting, the leadership of the Bauska region informed the minister about the most pressing issues. Among them are the inadequate system for draining rainwater and wastewater, damage to drainage networks after recent rains, losses in grain harvests, and identified bacterial contamination of the Musa River. The municipality urged the state to develop support mechanisms to address such situations.
