Citizens of Latvia who have applied for voluntary training as soldier-reservists will arrive at mobilization centers. From the mobilization centers, citizens who have applied for the reservist training course will be transported to the infantry school in Alūksne. The reservist training course will take place from August 8 to August 29, with 114 reservists mastering basic military skills during the course. During the military training course at the infantry school in Alūksne, reservists will acquire basic military skills at both individual and collective levels, covering various subjects including regulations, handling weapons, combat shooting, topography, land navigation, field combat skills, and more. Training will be conducted in person in classrooms, in the field, and in field conditions through lectures and practical field exercises, with theoretical and practical assessments. During military training, reservists will be on active duty, hold military status, and the training time will count towards their service years. Reservists will be provided with accommodation in barracks or in field conditions - in tents, as well as with uniforms and necessary equipment. For each day of military exercises, reservists will receive compensation starting from €41.75 per day. In addition to the compensation, reservists will receive a soldier's allowance of €14 per day or will be provided with meals. After successfully completing the training course, reservists will take the military oath, receive a reserve soldier's certificate, a mobilization order, and will be enrolled in the reserve of the armed forces with the status of a reserve soldier, thus beginning to fulfill the duties of a reserve soldier. The restoration of military skills for reserve soldiers occurs every four years through a call-up for the next reservist training exercises. Both women and men - citizens of Latvia aged 18 to 60, who have at least a basic education, possess a medium level of proficiency in the state language, have no criminal record, and meet the appropriate health conditions - can apply for reservist training.
