About 700 people, according to German media, rode through the city naked in temperatures around 30 degrees. The organizers of the event, which has been held since 2001 in various cities around the world, emphasize that they want to draw attention to the diversity of human bodies, environmental issues, and promote naturism, but do not intend to convey any sexual undertones with this action. The route for the naked cyclists, stretching 33 kilometers, mainly followed the Berlin Wall past well-known sites such as Treptower Park, the East Side Gallery, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Reichstag building. Participants started at Mauerpark and headed through the government district to Schönefeld. Each participant decided for themselves how much to expose during the ride. Only bicycles and e-bikes were allowed; electric scooters were prohibited.
