As part of the celebration of Riga's 825th anniversary on Saturday, August 15, the Riga Motor Museum, in collaboration with the Riga City Council, will provide residents and guests of the city with a unique opportunity to see the legendary racing car **Auto Union Type C**. The event program includes a ceremonial presentation of the car for media representatives. In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Bikerneki Sports Complex, the legendary racing car will make a ceremonial lap around the track, after which it will participate in a parade from the Riga Motor Museum to the Freedom Monument from 10:30 to 11:30. The **Auto Union Type C** will be driven by Audi factory driver Dindo Capello, a three-time winner of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The route will pass through the streets of Eisenstein, Shmerli, Brivibas Gatve, Zemgala Gatve, Ieriku, across the Zemitani Bridge, then along Chaka Street, Tallinas, and Brivibas to the Freedom Monument. At the Freedom Monument, the car can be seen from 12:00 to 18:00. The organizers warn that due to adverse weather conditions or technical reasons, the time of the parade and exhibition may be changed. The **Auto Union Type C** is one of the most outstanding cars of the pre-war era. Equipped with a six-liter 16-cylinder engine producing 520 horsepower, it can reach speeds of up to 340 kilometers per hour. This legendary racing car was created by Ferdinand Porsche and was considered the pinnacle of engineering in the 1930s, as evidenced by numerous victories in prestigious international auto races. As noted by the director of the Riga Motor Museum, Agris Šmits, the sound of the **Auto Union V16** engine last echoed in Riga in 1997. Therefore, its return nearly three decades later will be a truly historic event. The exhibition of the car at the Freedom Monument will allow thousands of Riga residents and guests of the capital to see this unique monument of world motorsport in the very center of the city. This will be a rare opportunity not only to hear the legendary V16 engine but also to see up close the car that has entered the history of world motorsport and is considered one of the most valuable machines of the pre-war era.
