On Wednesday evening, residents of Latvia flocked to the sea to witness the solar eclipse. Beaches across the country were filled with people carrying cameras, phones, and special protective gear for observing the Sun. Most viewers used special eclipse glasses. Others came with welding masks, while some showed creativity by trying to view the Sun through motorcycle helmets or even X-ray images. During the eclipse, people actively photographed the event, recorded videos, and shared their impressions with each other. See how it was on the beach in Bolderāja in the photos from the LETA agency. ![zatmenie-ET_249375392.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375392.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375382.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375382.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375372.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375372.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375332.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375332.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375322.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375322.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375302.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375302.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375262.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375262.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375202.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375202.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375182.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375182.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375162.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375162.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375112.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375112.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249375092.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249375092.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249374992.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249374992.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249374922.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249374922.jpeg)![zatmenie-ET_249374892.jpeg](https://bb.lv/storage/upload/zatmenie-ET_249374892.jpeg) Solar eclipses occur regularly, but the opportunity to observe them from a specific point on Earth is rare. That is why many residents of Latvia decided not to miss the chance to see this natural phenomenon with their own eyes. Even the cool weather did not prevent hundreds of people from spending the evening by the sea, witnessing one of the most beautiful astronomical events of the year.
