The diver went missing at sea on Sunday 12 July, approximately ten nautical miles north-east of Roja. A group of four divers had been diving near a shipwreck. Three divers successfully resurfaced, but one diver went missing.
The missing diver was searched for over 38 hours by the Navy, the Border Guard, an aircraft from the Air Force of the National Armed Forces, and an Estonian search and rescue helicopter.
