The exhibition is organized by the museum in collaboration with collectors and breeders from the Enthusiasts' Gardening Club "Tomāts". This year, they have prepared about 300 varieties of tomatoes — from well-known ones in Latvia and other countries to entirely new breeding varieties. The exhibition promises to be particularly colorful. Visitors will see light pink, red, yellow, and dark purple tomatoes, round and elongated, very small and impressively large. Such diversity will allow not only to appreciate the appearance of the fruits but also to get acquainted with varieties that are still rarely found in Latvian gardens and stores. A separate part of the exhibition will be dedicated to aromatic and spicy plants. Gardeners will present various types of mint and basil, as well as rosemary, lavender, curry, bay, spinach, and other crops. One of the participants will be the gardening farm "Neslinko," which will bring 120 varieties of tomatoes to the museum, as well as a rich collection of spicy and aromatic plants. The exhibition will be interesting not only for those who want to admire unusual fruits. Visitors will have the opportunity to personally communicate with experienced gardeners and receive recommendations on growing tomatoes and herbs, choosing suitable varieties, and their use. In addition, during the exhibition, it will be possible to purchase seeds of varieties registered in the register of the State Plant Protection Service of Latvia (VAAD).
