At the same time, about one in four, or 28%, of respondents believe that they have none of the bad habits included in the study. The most common habits residents acknowledged were regular tobacco smoking (25%), lack of sleep (24%), and excessive engagement with the virtual environment – the internet, social media, and computer games (18%). "Bad habits are often interconnected and contribute to each other's development. For example, lack of sleep can lead to increased consumption of sweets, energy drinks, or unhealthy food, while insufficient water intake can create a desire to eat more; in turn, excessive time spent in front of screens often reduces physical activity, contributes to feelings of fatigue, and worsens sleep quality. Therefore, the foundation of creating a healthier lifestyle lies in a comprehensive approach – it is important to consider daily habits as a whole, rather than addressing just one problem," recommends the head of the Mana Aptieka pharmacy, pharmacist Agnese Ritenes. Regarding eating habits, excessive consumption of sweets (16%), excessive consumption of baked goods (15%), and unhealthy eating (14%) were mentioned relatively frequently in the survey. Meanwhile, 8% of respondents admitted to consuming energy drinks, 8% to frequent overeating, 7% to regular use of other nicotine-containing products, 6% to excessive alcohol consumption, and only 1% to excessive fasting.
