If a queue forms in the store, employees will activate traditional checkouts to help serve customers more quickly. Thus, it is more about changing the organization of staff work rather than a complete closure of regular checkouts after 8:00 PM. ## ## There are no plans to introduce such rules in Latvia For Latvian Maxima stores, this order is not currently planned. As explained by Maxima Latvija, the chain does not intend to transfer the Lithuanian practice to its stores in Latvia. However, this does not mean that all regular checkouts will operate in the evenings regardless of the number of customers. If there are few visitors, in some stores, part of the checkouts may be temporarily closed, offering customers the option to use automatic ones. ## ## Customers will not be left without assistance At the same time, Maxima Latvija emphasizes that a consultant will be located near the self-service checkouts. The employee will be able to assist customers if they encounter difficulties when using the automatic checkout. So, for Latvian customers, the familiar order is still maintained for now. The possible reduction in the number of operating regular checkouts will primarily depend on the number of visitors in a specific store.
