The head of the public relations department at LMT, Valdis Jaliņskis, reported that on Sunday morning, mobile communication disruptions affected 3% of LMT's customer connections, mainly in Latgale, Zemgale, and eastern Kurzeme; however, the situation is gradually improving. LMT employees, along with colleagues from Sadales tīkls and Augstsprieguma tīkls, are working to restore power to the base stations as quickly as possible and ensure stable mobile network operation. In case of prolonged power outages at heavily loaded base stations in critical points of the network, additional diesel generators have been installed, and extra fuel began to be delivered on the morning of August 23. Mobile diesel generators and mobile base stations are also being used if necessary. The public relations manager of Tele2, Oskars Firmans, stated that power outages have affected the operation of base stations. The company's technical department staff are working around the clock to fix the issues; however, fallen trees and flooded areas significantly hinder access to many base stations. Meanwhile, a representative of Bite Latvija, Una Ahuna-Ozola, reported that approximately 200 base stations of Bite Latvija currently remain without power, which affects the availability of mobile communication and the internet in certain regions of Latvia. The most affected areas are around Bauska, Jelgava, Olaine, Riga, Ogre, Sigulda, Salaspils, Preili, Ludza, Līvāni, Jēkabpils, and Rēzekne. Power outages have also impacted the operation of several customer service centers. Currently, customer service is unavailable in the salons in Sigulda, Cēsis, Ogre, Jēkabpils, Bauska, and Aizkraukle. Meanwhile, the customer service center in Riga on Andrejs Saharovs Street is temporarily closed due to a burglary that occurred overnight.
