The most serious power supply issues on Wednesday morning persist in the Aizkraukle, Preiļi, Jēkabpils, and Rēzekne regions. The company warns that in some cases, after the restoration of electricity supply, there may be repeated outages. Broken trees and branches continue to fall on power lines, causing new damage. As of 6:00 AM on August 26, electricity supply has been restored to approximately 266,000 customers — about 96% of all consumers who were left without electricity due to the storm. To date, 1,256 damages to the distribution network have been eliminated. On Wednesday, more than 200 teams from Sadales tīkls will continue restoration work. They are assisted by seven teams from the Estonian distribution network operator Elektrilevi. The company is also collaborating with communication operators to restore mobile network functionality. Inspections of damaged areas continue, including with the help of drones.
