On Saturday, the weather will begin to change. The southern and southeastern winds will strengthen with gusts of up to 11–16 meters per second, and a rain zone will cross Latvia from the southwest. Before its arrival, temperatures in many areas will rise to +20…+23 degrees. Approximately the same temperatures are expected on Sunday, although there will be occasional short rains. Next week, precipitation will periodically intensify. The most rain is forecasted by meteorologists in Kurzeme and the western part of Vidzeme. After a warm start to the week, it will become cooler. According to the forecast from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, September in Latvia is expected to be slightly warmer than usual, but also more rainy. Overall, air temperatures will be close to the climatic norm and predominantly slightly above it, while the amount of precipitation is likely to exceed the usual September figures.
