One of the users on Threads pointed out that after the arrival of cruise liners in Riga, numerous tourists regularly find themselves on the pedestrian walkway of the Cable-Stayed Bridge. He addressed his message to the Riga authorities. With irony, the author suggested installing a simple sign for the city's guests, warning them that it is not worth walking across the bridge in search of the Old Town. Judging by the context, the issue was not so much about navigation problems as it was about the condition of the structure itself. Thus, the Riga resident decided to draw the authorities' attention to the unsightly appearance of the bridge, which today is hard to call a worthy calling card of the capital. Meanwhile, a major reconstruction of the Cable-Stayed Bridge is planned. According to current plans, the main construction work is set to begin at the end of 2027.
