The camera at this intersection is designed to identify drivers who continue straight in the dedicated public transport lane on Chaka Street towards Ziedondarzs Park instead of turning onto Matisa Street. However, due to a malfunction, the system could not correctly distinguish between going straight and the permitted maneuver. As a result, violations were recorded for cars that legally entered the public transport lane to turn right onto Matisa Street. Thus, among those recorded by the system were both actual violators who continued straight and drivers who made the permitted turn. Currently, the municipal police are reviewing each case individually and determining the total number of justified and mistakenly issued fines. All penalty decisions made without sufficient grounds will be canceled. Drivers who have already received such orders will soon be sent official notifications about their cancellation.
