Parents are the guides for their children into adulthood. Their words and actions from birth shape the child's future, and even an unconscious phrase can cause significant harm. Psychologist Inna Tliashinova highlighted phrases that should never be said to girls. “Aren't you ashamed?!” This phrase instills a sense of guilt in girls and blocks their sexuality. The child begins to withdraw, believing that something is wrong with them, and in adulthood feels shame for their desires, punishing themselves by denying what they want, including relationships. “Sit still and don’t stick out” A child's self-esteem depends on their parents. If you have a daughter, ask your husband to compliment her more often, and vice versa. “You must be this way and that way because only such girls are loved, taken as wives, and so on” Do not force the child to do what they do not want and what you want. Talk openly and honestly with them about your feelings and fears. Ask why it is important for them to do things differently. Children often misbehave to attract attention, and by imposing templates of how a girl should be, you block her true self, uniqueness, and special traits. Everyone has their match, and you don’t need to be convenient for that. The words “be more careful,” “don’t touch,” “I’ll do it myself, you can’t” block the child's success. Set rules and explain them to the children. Trust them and believe in them. “You must study well. First studies, then boys and parties” The phrase “If not this one, then someone else; you’ll have plenty of boys” devalues the girl's feelings and does not give her a chance to experience her emotions. “No” This manipulative word is used by many parents to make the child obedient. But when such a child grows up, they do not know what they want. Do not strive to make your child obedient — respect their “no.” Then the child will grow up with their own opinions and life principles and will not be afraid to realize themselves. “Share, how can you not be ashamed!” With these words, you deprive the child of the ability to stand up for themselves. Do not force children to share when they do not want to. They have the right to manage their own belongings. “It’s expensive/why do you need this/you already have so much, you can do without it” Do not criticize children's desires. Instead, think together with the child about how you can solve this. For example: “I don’t have enough money right now, I will earn it, and if this is important to you, we will buy you this item.” This will help the child in the future not to devalue themselves and their opportunities. “I have no money/you want too much — you’ll get little” It is important for girls to want a lot and desire. Their desires carry the energy for realization. An adult woman, thanks to her “wants,” motivates and inspires a man to reach new levels, increasing his financial capacity. “I know what’s best for you” This phrase blocks the child's internal connection with themselves. No one knows a girl's desires better than she does. Parents should listen to the child's opinion, consider it, and encourage it. Children imitate their parents, and this is no secret. Therefore, a happy child is one whose parents are happy.
