According to The Kathmandu Post, government representatives discussed with the companies the need to expedite responses to complaints. Bijay Kumar Roy, the coordinator of the government task force on social media regulation, stated that unacceptable content should be removed immediately upon receiving a violation report. Authorities also urged Meta and TikTok to improve their algorithms to more quickly identify fake and graphic materials. Currently, processing such complaints can take from 24 to 48 hours. According to local media, scammers are also exploiting the tragedy to raise money by posting QR codes with calls to help the victims.
