At 3:48, similar warnings were issued to residents of Tartu, Jõgeva, Viljandi, Valga, Võru, and Põlva counties. ### Drones Were Already Over Estonia The head of the Strategic Communications Department of the Estonian Defense Forces, Colonel Uku Arnold, told ERR that the drones were within Estonian borders. As a result, Turkish fighters were scrambled into the air. "There were drones moving parallel to the eastern border of Estonia, as well as the eastern border of Latvia, and they entered Estonia, which is why we also declared an alert," Arnold said. ### The Alert Was First Declared in Latvia As previously reported, on Tuesday night, the Latvian National Armed Forces (NBS) also issued a warning about a threat from drones. At 2:00, residents of the Ludza region received messages on their mobile phones about a possible threat in the airspace. At 2:25, the Latvian army reported that the potential threat had passed. However, just over an hour later, the situation repeated itself in another part of the country. At 3:37, the NBS declared an aerial threat in the Alūksne region. As a result, NATO fighters on the mission to patrol the airspace of the Baltic states were activated. At 4:17, the declared threat in the Alūksne region was lifted. Thus, the nighttime incident affected two Baltic countries. According to the Estonian side, the drones were moving along the eastern borders of Latvia and Estonia before entering Estonian territory. NATO fighters were deployed to respond to the threat.
