According to the National Guard, Latvian National Guardsmen and military personnel from other NATO countries, including representatives of the National Guard of Denmark and Sweden, will participate in the exercises. The main goal of the exercises is to strengthen the interaction and compatibility of Latvian units with allied forces. Particular attention will be paid to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and their integration in performing various tactical tasks. ## Drones will fly from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Residents are specifically warned that during the exercises in the Krimulda municipality of the Sigulda region and the Sēja municipality of the Saulkrasti region, there will be intensive flights of drones. Drones will be used during daylight hours — from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. These are micro-class unmanned aerial vehicles. The National Guard emphasizes that they will not be armed and do not pose a threat to residents. The use of drones in Latvian airspace has been coordinated. During the exercises, restrictions set by the Civil Aviation Agency will also be strictly observed, including areas where drone flights are prohibited. ## Military vehicles will appear on the roads During the maneuvers, there may be brief movements of military transport on the roads of the Krimulda and Sēja municipalities. The National Guard reminds that the training of units is conducted throughout the year. Military personnel and National Guardsmen practice various tactical tasks both in summer and winter. Training in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles is also regularly conducted in territorial brigades. Its purpose is to improve the skills of personnel and enhance the readiness of units to defend the territories assigned to them. Thus, from September 4 to 13, residents of certain areas of the Sigulda and Saulkrasti regions should be prepared to see military drones more frequently in the sky and encounter military vehicles on the roads. The National Guard emphasizes that the drones will be unarmed, and all flights are coordinated and conducted as part of planned exercises.
