In Kuwait, the target of the strikes, according to Iranian statements, was Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base. Kuwaiti military officials reported that they intercepted missiles and drones on Thursday and called the Iranian attack a gross violation of international law. Iran's armed forces also claimed to have struck Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates; however, authorities in that country stated that no such attack was recorded. In Tehran, it was stated that at least 19 people had fallen victim to American airstrikes in southern Iran over the past week. Among them were four individuals, including a child, who died at a wedding ceremony, the participants of which, according to Iranian media, were directly hit. U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance stated that Washington has begun an investigation based on these reports — but emphasized that he views the reports from Iranian media "with a great deal of skepticism." A representative of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Tim Hawkins, stated that "American forces never strike civilians, unlike the IRGC." Extensive American bombings of targets across Iran over the past week have claimed the lives of at least 19 people after President Donald Trump stated that his military was ready to strike Iran "at any moment."
